I went to see the cast & crew screening of "Control" a while ago and I can safely say that it's amazing! I am really proud to have been a part of it and it was great to catch up with some of the people I worked with there.

Well, it looks like the film I worked on, Control, has made quite an impression at Cannes! "Control" is the bipoic of Joy Division lead singer Ian Curtis (played by the very impressive Sam Riley) and directed by Anton Corbijn. There was a big report about it on Channel 4 just now and it was a fantastic review - they said it was going down a storm at Cannes! It's amazing to see all my work on the screen - the posters, the paperwork, the tickets, the bits and bobs on his bedroom wall, the signs in the background, the labels on baby food, the packaging on items - anything printed has probably been through me! I'm so excited that the film is going down so well and I hope it leads to many more opportunities.

There's all kids of crazy stuff going on at the moment! Last month we finally named our collective "Kin" and started telling people about who we are and what we do. We went to a bit of an expo called "Made In Coventry" at the Ricoh Arena, which was a good laugh, and made lots of friends by handing out sweets, biscuits, cake and tea. In the last 2 months, things have really taken off, as we have secured a number of really high end clients, the most well known of which is probably Simple (as in the skincare people). We pitched for and won the design of their revolutionary blog style skincare and lifestyle site at www.simplycity.me.uk and they are delighted with the results. We are looking forward to working with them again on some exciting new projects next year. I also have a project coming up with Black & Decker and lots of other great people, so keep an eye out for new work!

Bijou Woo are set to appear in a wedding magazine some time soon, so I will post as soon as that happens!

Been a while since my last update and there's LOTS to tell! Firstly, I have a new address, as my collective has acquired a bigger studio at the canal basin in Coventry. I can now be found at Studio 20-21, The Canal Warehouse, Coventry CV1 4LH. The really exciting thing about the move is what we are going to do with the extra space! We are doing it up to have 4 more desk spaces, which will be available to rent by other creative self-emplyed persons (if you're interested, please get in touch) and we also have plans for a shop, a gallery area, a coffee and meeting area and a mentoring scheme in conjunction with Coventry University.

Also on the cards (boom boom) is my new business with Shari Amos. We are setting up a wedding stationery and greetings cards company called Bijou Woo - you can see the branding for it by clicking here. We are really excited about our new business, which will offer unusual, unique, beautiful wedding invitations and everything else you may need on paper for a wedding! This new venture was inspired partly by my own wedding, which happened on the 25th of November and for which I designed my own invites, which can be seen here. The design will be available as one of our ready to go designs on the site. Shari has already designed beautiful bespoke invites for many happy customers and we hope this will continue for a long time to come! The site will be ready by the end of January, but we can design your invites now, so get in touch if you want to have a chat about it! Email us on hello@bijouwoo.com

Quite a few fun things coming up soon. The "Los Logos" series of books has now produced its third title, "Tres Logos" and I was invited to submit. So far I know that I have three logos featured in the book, but there may be more, I haven't seen it yet! I think it is now out, so you can buy it from amazon, or direct from the publishers. Check it out at http://www.die-gestalten.de and if you look carefully at the example pags, you can find some of the logos featured on this site!

Also, one of the logos I submitted to the book has been picked up by Japanese clothing compay UNIQLO who are currently testing it on a T Shirt to be on sale in New York as part of their limited edition range, which I am really excited about! Soon as I have pictures, they will be posted on here.

I've now finished working on the film and wow, what an experience! Very hard work, long hours and tight deadlines, but looking back over what I have done, an invaluable experience to say the least. We got to see some of the already edited footage at the wrap party last Saturday night and I have to say, it looked absolutely amazing and it was fantastic to see my work on the screen.

So, that means that I am now available for freelance again and am looking forward to starting some exciting new projects.

I will be putting up some images from the film online as soon as it is ok'd for use on my site, so make sure you look out for those. In the meantime, you can look at some of the work I produced for the film here.

In case anyone is wondering where then hell I went, I am working full time on a movie up in Nottingham, which is really exciting! It's called "Control" and is about the band Joy Division and more specifically their lead singer, Ian Curtis. I am the graphic designer on the film abd I design and make all the graphic props for each scene. So far, it has been hectic but really interesting and seeing the props on a set was really fun. I will be on it for about another month or so and will be available again for freelance after that.

Well, I have now moved into the Attenshun studio and, so far, everything is going great! I just need a slightly bigger desk, as I seem to have brought more stuff with me than I thought. For your future reference, I can now be contacted at the Attenshun studio on 02476 631610.

Big changes are afoot; I got tired of working alone every day, so I decided to move in with the Attenshun collective down at the canal basin, Coventry. I will still be a freelancer, but I get to share ideas and fun with the other freelancers down there, as well as take on larger projects under the collective name, which is absolutely what I wanted, so I am over the moon. I should be moving in tomorrow, so fingers crossed it all goes well!

I googled myself earlier and my site didn't come up. I realised that's because I only actually say "Cassie Leedham" once on this entire site. So, I guess I should say Cassie Leedham more, then I will come higher up on the Google list. Well, that's two more Cassie Leedham mentions, so that should help. Wait, no; that's three.

Oooh I won a prize! SeaSwarm held a competition to design their new logo and one of mine was the winner! I get £250, which is fantastic, though they don't have their cheque book yet, so I have an I.O.U. instead! I received the proze at a SeaSwarm event last night, where they had live theatre, music, poetry readings and art installations. All good fun! You can see the winning entry here

In other news, my partner of almost 6 years finally proposed on a trip to Paris and we are now engaged to be married :)

This month is looking really good, with the new issue of TEN4 Magazine coming out. I have two double page spreads and one illustration in there, so keep em peeled for a copy. You can check out the new issue and find out all about the magazine at www.channel4.com/ten4 and make sure you take a look at the other designers on board - there's some real talent there. Also on the cards is a website for the theatre company "Non-Descript" and a new Olivia site.

Well, there sure has been a lot going on in the land of Serin. We've seen the beginning of a new year and we've moved towns and had some lovely new clients to work with - and there's plenty more to come. This year I will be working with the fantastic band "Don't Move!", the tapestry arts organisation TAP and there will be a complete redesign of the Olivia website. It looks like it's going to be a great year for Serin. Please take note of the new phone number and email address at the top of the page.
